Matches against your own documents first, a service you choose if you want one, and an AI-writing signal that never claims to be a verdict.
originality adds an Originality panel. Nothing runs until the person asks; it says what is sent and to whom; results are overlays only (never written into the file); and it never blocks saving, sharing or exporting. A sensitive document hides it and sends nothing.
corpus.search(text): near matches in your organisation's own documents (reused grant text, boilerplate), the private default.checkPlagiarism(text): a service you choose, returning{ score, matches: [{ start, end, similarity, sourceTitle, url }] }.detectAi(text): an AI-writing detector, shown only as a soft per-paragraph signal ("may contain AI-generated text, low confidence") with a note that detectors are often wrong, especially for people writing in a second language. Never a verdict.
The report shows the overall similarity and the matched passages, highlighted in the text, each with Go to, Add citation (a real Word citation) and Rewrite. No vendor is built in.
